Summary
Company Background
What does your company focus on?
Crotalus is a consultancy company dedicated to greenhouse gas emissions mitigation projects, specializing in biogas initiatives, waste separation and generation of carbon credits under international standards. The team mainly focuses on consulting, along with project management support in some cases. Their scope ranges from supporting clients throughout the entire lifecycle to managing actual construction. Since these workflows vary in length, focus, and complexity, the tool of choice had to be flexible for daily planning and affordable in price.
Reynaldo Hernandez, founder of Crotalus, shares why the team chose GanttPRO and how it supports their current approach.
Back in the day, we used to work in Microsoft Project, and it was definitely doing its job for us. But the missing part was affordability. GanttPRO was the alternative we were looking for, with the right balance between price and functionality
Struggle
How did your approach look before GanttPRO?
Solution
“Besides the Gantt chart view, we also use the Kanban view regularly. We didn’t notice it at first, but discovering it was definitely worth it, as it turned out to be more useful than I expected. It’s the best way to quickly evaluate the to-do list without extra work and visualize task distribution.”
For the team, Baseline serves as a control point for comparing current project performance against the original plan and tracking any deviations along the way. “It is essential to track delays and prevent the whole process from collapsing, that’s the way to put it.”
Critical Path became another particularly valuable GanttPRO feature: “This functionality was very important for us, and it was something we also used in Microsoft Project. It helps a lot when the timeline depends on engineering and construction-related tasks.”
